Zeiter Literacy Center @ UNLV
Literacy/Biliteracy Education & Professional Development
A word of welcome from the Zeiter Literacy Center leadership:
The Gayle A. Zeiter Family Literacy Center (ZLC) is a progressive space centered on 21st century literacy. Through interdisciplinary approaches and collaborations, ZLC fosters current relationships and initiatives while building new ones, both through seeking internal and external grants, research, and scholarly activity. In addition, ZLC provides professional development to support community partners’ language and literacy initiatives and goals. ZLC’s interdisciplinary vision and mission is responsive to our community and aims to address the language and literacy needs of PK-12 students, preservice and inservice teachers, educators, researchers, community entities, and families. The interdisciplinary literacy foci may include:
- Multilingual literacy
- Literacy across the disciplines
- Family literacy
- Arts
As former classroom teachers and leaders, engaged academics, and community-focused partners, the director and associated faculty of the Zeiter Literacy Center are ready to work collaboratively with you in the pursuit of equitable pathways and outcomes for PreK-16 students, their families, and community at large. We look forward to working with you!
