The Zeiter Center serves the community by providing:
Professional development workshops and conferences
Family engagement supporting children’s joy toward literacy
One-on-one and small group literacy tutoring
A venue for conducting scholarly activity that improves children’s literacy and education professionals’ knowledge
Coordinating professional development for districts and grants
Supporting literacy education courses offered to teachers and university students
Hosting Taboo: The Journal of Culture and Education

The Gayle A. Zeiter Family Literacy Center is a progressive space centered on 21st century literacy. We realize our mission through workshops, conferences, an academic journal, tutoring, and the coordination of professional development opportunities requested by districts and grants. Zeiter is Southern Nevada's Leader in global engagement with Literacy and Educational Professional Development. As former classroom teachers, engaged academics, and community-centered partners, the leadership of Zeiter stands ready to work collaboratively in the pursuit of equitable pathways and outcomes for PreK-12 students, their families, and community at large.
